Very clean. Food was hot, homemade, and came out quickly. Service was very friendly. All in all, a good basic family restaurant.

Very nice breakfast a place where you can go and relax and enjoy your breakfast but a little pricey.

Delicious food. On several occasions me & my wife have been here. The food is great , the staff is courteous and it is very clean.

Excellent place to get breakfast. Everyone got what they wanted and the food came out fast. And not burnt!! Great for a bunch of hungry boys. The wait staff was very attentive. They worked well together and helped each other cover the tables. Which is typically unheard of in the restaurant business. Even the manager made his way around. I found the attention to be just right and not intrusive. My wife has a pet peeve about always having water. They made her happy and it was ALWAYS full. Decor was alright. It has been updated over the years. I would recommend changing out the green cushions. But other than that, a great place every time.

Love this place! The family that owns it is very friendly. The waitress we had was a sweetheart...I got the gyros skillet but asked for no cheese (not a fan of feta) and she suggested mozzarella instead. Very tasty! Great place for a delish breakfast :)

Passed this place for years and never came in but regret not stopping before. I've been here 4-5 times now and will continue coming. Servers are cheery and helpful even when the place is packed. Food comes up quickly and exactly as ordered. On a busy day, you might have to ask for more coffee or soda, but it comes promptly. Breakfast is great; I love the Eggs Benedict. Portion is generous and well-presented. Lunch is good as well, the Reuben sandwich is a favorite. Soups are home-made and tasty. Prices are reasonable; I just wish this place was nearer my home!

The food was very good and fresh. I ordered the taco salad and the hamburger meat was very nicely seasoned and saucy. My daughters kid chicken fingers and fries were good and fresh also, I do worry at times with the chicken kids meals because more often than not at some area resturants the chicken is on the dry side but not here.. Reasonably priced also:)

The atmosphere was fresh and clean. The service was fast and friendly. You can tell that there were plenty of regulars because everybody knew each other's names. The breakfast was tasty. I had the Mexican skillet. I will be back soon.

Aspen Cafe is great if you're looking for a quick and affordable breakfast or lunch. The food and service are consistently good - that's why we go. Jimmy the owner frequently makes his way around to be sure the customers are happy - he's friendly and genuinely interested in what the customers have to say. The wait staff seems experienced and on the ball. The food arrives quickly and portions are large. No complaints from me!

Went to Aspen Cafe for breakfast. Very clean, quiet place to eat. Service and food quality was okay. Bill was a little higher than expected ($2.99 for OJ, $2.99 for side order of bacon, and most skillets were in the $8-10.00 range). I ordered the "country breakfast" ($6.49) which is a 1/2 order of biscuits (one flat biscuit opened into halves), eggs (two-served how you want), and sausage (two links you can also opt for bacon)...no toast. All were tasty, but I was certainly not full when I left. I would recommend this place to someone, but I would caution them about the price and portions.

Quick breakfast on a Monday morning, all I could find open. Nothing too exciting other than it was large portions which then I knew I was good to go for the rest of my drive up into Michigan. Waiter was a pleasant guy who was getting along great with all the patrons. Would return.

It's not very good. The eggs were undercooked (i asked for the eggs over medium) and the bacon didn't have much flavor. The coffee was not drinkable as it seemed burned, we won't go back.

Your basic NW Indiana diner fare at your basic NW Indiana diner prices. Ample portions, friendly and attentive service (to the point you might have to ask that they stop refilling your water and coffee). Certainly not a place I'd consider a go-to destination from outside of St. John, but if you happen to be there and are craving comfort food, this place is as good as any.

I love this place for breakfast! Good portions at good prices. It can get crowded on holidays (but what place isn't). Great kid options too!
